About the Project

The People’s Election Night brought together Native Land Pod and The Breakfast Club for live 2026 midterm coverage aimed at a broad audience. The project also involved media and streaming partners including Blavity, REVOLT, the Global Black Economic Forum, Essence, The Root, and iHeartMedia. With hosts rotating through the broadcast and journalists reporting from watch parties around the country, the campaign needed to communicate many people, organizations, and ways to participate without feeling repetitive.

As Creative Lead and Brand Designer, I set and approved the visual direction and developed an identity that could work across digital, print, and broadcast. The campaign included promotional and partner graphics, host and journalist assets, three media kits, two one-pagers, and “Know Before You Go” voter-information graphics. I also designed printed materials for the room, including press passes and speaker cards.

The broadcast introduced a new design challenge for me: making the identity work on set and in motion. I helped bring the system into the physical environment through the stage backdrop and desk graphics, while our team developed branded transitions and lower thirds. For live results, I built a custom cloud-based graphics tool for the team to update race calls, governor and Senate results, and the Senate balance of power as results came in. The team used that system to support rapid updates throughout the broadcast.

The project was a collaboration across Native Land Pod’s creative, communications, and production teams. Together, we brought the campaign from its initial identity through the live broadcast, with a flexible system that connected the many pieces into one cohesive experience.
